There is a phrase that says the richest learning experiences are "caught, not taught," and I wholly believe that. The art of tutoring is knowing how to pitch the ball so that it is catchable.
Tutoring Approach/Experience
Setting goals and identifying gaps. Without clear goals, tutoring becomes just more busywork. Once a goal is identified, I like to look for methods within the student's learning style to achieve it. This calls for a bit of flexibility since some people respond best to visual or auditory cues, while others are hands-on learners.
