Personal Statement
I graduated from Boston College with a BS in Biochemistry, after which I spent a year teaching English as a second language in South Korea. There I learned that using different approaches to presenting the material often leads to better comprehension. I also enjoy science and would be an enthusiastic tutor in related subjects.
Tutoring Approach/Experience
Before teaching ESL, I tutored college and high school students in chemistry and calculus. I think study skills are important to emphasize while working on any subject. In addition, during the first meeting, I would like to find out the goals of the student and work on a good study plan. I think it is important to respect the needs of the student and I will cater to them.
