Personal Statement
I am a special education teacher at Sachse High School, working with students with learning disabilities in all four core subject areas.My greatest joy is seeing the light bulb come on for students as they master a concept with which they have struggled. Having lived in diverse areas of North America (remote Alaskan villages, Canadian towns, midwest and Texas), I have worked with students from many varied cultures and languages. I have husband, four wonderful teenagers, a dog and 2 cats.
Tutoring Approach/Experience
After learning the areas of difficulty and the student's learning style, I prefer to work with the student on current school assignments and reteach the material as we go through the work. This allows me to see any gaps in knowledge, which we can then go back and cover, helping the student to gain confidence and independence in completing assignments.
