I am very easy to get along with but have high expectations for my students. I am passionate about tutoring students one-on-one and helping them to understand the material. I don't just want my students to be able to answer questions correctly--I want them to make meaningful connections and really "get" the concepts. I always try to go the extra mile and I become personally invested in my students' continued success. I have state endorsements to teach biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, history, and psychology. I earned my bachelor's degree in molecular genetics with full university honors and recently earned a master's degree in education with a 4.0 GPA.
Tutoring Approach/Experience
I talk to my students to find out what they are struggling with and I always ask them to explain their thought processes so I can better determine the cause of any reoccuring problems they may be having. I have been very successful in helping students not only increase their grades in a specific subject, but also in helping them increase their overall confidence and improve their attitudes toward school in general. I have seen this amazing transformation with a number of my students, particularly with middle school and high school math students. I have had many parents tell me that they simply could not believe how, within the first few sessions, their child seemed like a completely different student...in a very positive way! I would be happy to provide references from these very satisfied clients and I would absolutely love the opportunity to make a positive change in your child's life as well.
